Vaxigrip - Prophylaxis against influenza. Immunization is strongly recommended for elderly and weakened patients (respiratory disease, heart disease), for patients with drepanocytemia and immuno depressed patients. Prevention of influenza, particularly in subjects showing a high-risk of associated complications. Vaxigrip should be used according to official recommendations. The immune system produces antibodies against influenza within 2-3 weeks following Vaxigrip administration. None of the components of Vaxigrip will cause influenza. Vaxigrip is not indicated for prevention of common cold. Protection against influenza (flu), particularly in subjects showing high-risk associated complications. Vaxigrip should be used according to official recommendations. The doctor will be able to recommend the best time to be vaccinated. Indications: active immunization Prophylaxis against influenza in adult & child >6 mth. Prophylaxis against influenza in persons in whom influenza would be likely to give rise to complications: People >65 years; persons suffering from chronic cardiac or broncho pulmonary disease; those with chronic renal insufficiency ; individuals with diabetes mellitus ; immuno compromised individuals; subjects suffering from sickle cell anemia. In subjects, who, because of their profession, are exposed to infection. People likely to transmit flu to high risk subjects with whom they are in close contact (doctors, hospital staff and social workers).
